Loren Jones

Loren Jones is a native Texan that works primarily in metal. His personal sculptures hold a degree of fantasy and myth that rely on scale to increase the viewer's sense of wonder. Loren has been creating large scale sculptures since 2018 when he started his grad work at the University of North Texas. After completing his MFA in 2021, Loren joined forces with 23 Design Co. where he now currently works as shop manager and artist to further continue his journey of creating monumental public artwork.

Wonder is the initial emotion that precipitates the fundamental questions: “Why is it here” “What is its purpose” “How do I interact with it”. The work that I enjoy producing has always held a thread of fantasy and wonder. The ephemeral worlds that encompass my childhood and beyond have been made manifest through my larger than life sculptures. Through the use of increased scale my work alters the audience’s perception of the object, from utilitarian and historical, to an object that inspires wonder.
